AML-CTF Analyst — U.S. Operations

We are seeking a hands-on and highly analytical AML-CTF Analyst to support JIM's operations in the United States.

 

This professional will be responsible for identifying, investigating, and escalating potentially suspicious activity across JIM's products and payment flows. The role requires experience in Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Terrorist Financing, transaction monitoring, customer due diligence, and data analysis.

 

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with large datasets, investigating complex behavioral patterns, documenting regulatory decisions, and collaborating with Product, Engineering, Risk, Fraud, Legal, and Compliance teams.

 

Experience in U.S. financial services, payments, fintech, merchant acquiring, ACH, cards, or banking products is highly desirable.

What You'll Do

  • Investigate alerts and cases generated by transaction-monitoring and customer-monitoring systems.
  • Analyze customer profiles, transactional activity, counterparties, devices, payment methods, geographic exposure, and behavioral patterns.
  • Identify potential money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, sanctions, structuring, funnel-account activity, account takeover, and other financial-crime risks.
  • Conduct Customer Due Diligence and Enhanced Due Diligence reviews.
  • Prepare clear, complete, and well-supported investigation narratives.
  • Support the preparation and filing of Unusual Activity Reports, Suspicious Activity Reports and other regulatory reports, when applicable.
  • Review activity across merchant acquiring, cards, ACH, account funding, withdrawals, transfers, and other JIM products.
  • Use SQL, dashboards, spreadsheets, and analytical tools to investigate cases and identify emerging risk patterns.
  • Support the development and improvement of AML rules, scenarios, thresholds, controls, and monitoring models.
  • Perform quality-control reviews and help ensure investigations meet internal and regulatory standards.
  • Document investigative decisions, supporting evidence, and risk-based conclusions.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to translate regulatory requirements into scalable controls.
  • Assist with requests from sponsor banks, auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify process gaps and propose improvements through automation, data analysis, and artificial intelligence.
  • Stay current on U.S. AML, CTF, sanctions, and financial-crime regulatory expectations.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Experience in AML, CTF, financial-crime investigations, transaction monitoring, compliance, fraud prevention, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of U.S. AML requirements and regulatory expectations, including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, FinCEN guidance, OFAC requirements, and Suspicious Activity Reporting.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Ability to review complex transaction patterns and explain conclusions clearly.
  • Experience using SQL or other data-analysis tools.
  • Strong written communication skills, particularly for investigation narratives and regulatory documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize cases, and manage multiple investigations.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • Experience working in fintech, payments, merchant acquiring, banking, cards, ACH, or digital financial services is preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Experience preparing or reviewing Unusual Activity Reports/Suspicious Activity Reports.
  • Experience working with U.S. sponsor banks or regulated financial institutions.
  • Experience working in the fintech industry, especially in the U.S. space
  • Familiarity with Python, BigQuery, Looker, Metabase, or similar analytical tools.
  • Familiarity designing alerts based on transaction behavior
  • Experience using artificial intelligence to improve investigations, monitoring, documentation, or operational efficiency.
  • Relevant certifications such as CAMS, CFCS, or CFE.
