CloudWalk brings humanoid robot to Latin America’s largest science and technology event

Humanoid robot Zizhao draws attention with interactive demonstrations of AI and robotics at the 10ᵗʰ edition of Science Days by Alpha Lumen. Event gathers 15,000 visitors in São José dos Campos, in the state of São Paulo.

A robot that walks, waves, dances and even blows kisses drew crowds and cameras on the opening day of the 10ᵗʰ edition of Science Days by Alpha Lumen, the largest science and technology event for students in Latin America. The humanoid machine, brought by CloudWalk – event’s main sponsor – has quickly become one of the biggest attractions of the fair, which takes place this Friday and Saturday (March 27–28) at the Vale Sul Shopping Events Center, at São José dos Campos, in the state of São Paulo, with free admission.

Organized by the Alpha Lumen Institute in partnership with the Michaelis Foundation for Global Education, the event is expected to draw around 15,000 visitors and brings together more than 130 institutions, including leading organizations such as DCTA (Department of Aerospace Science and Technology), ITA (Aeronautics Institute of Technology) and INPE (National Institute for Space Research).

One of the highlights of the program is the presence of the humanoid robot Zizhao, presented by CloudWalk. Designed to interact with the public, the robot demonstrates real-world applications of artificial intelligence, robotics and engineering in an accessible way for students.

“The humanoid robot we are bringing to the event demonstrates, in an accessible and interactive way, how AI, robotics and engineering can work together to create real-world solutions, bringing students closer to the most advanced technologies available today – and ultimately provoking them to imagine and build innovations of their own for the future,” said Gabriel Bernal, Chief Experience Officer (CXO) at CloudWalk.

In addition to Zizhao, the event features a wide range of attractions, including robotics demonstrations, drones, virtual reality experiences, workshops, exhibitions and student-led projects. One of the returning highlights is Boston Dynamics’ robotic dog Spot, alongside robots developed by Alpha Lumen students for national and international competitions.

The program also includes the 5ᵗʰ Science Days Space Symposium, which gathers business leaders, researchers and public officials to discuss topics such as the space economy, sustainability and mental health in organizations.

As the main sponsor, CloudWalk positions its participation as part of a broader effort to support education and innovation in Brazil and across the region. “We believe in initiatives like this because inspiring curiosity today is what will empower the next generation of scientists to solve humanity’s greatest challenges and shape a better future for all,” Bernal said.
